Shadow of the Giant, Orson Scott Card (TOR, 2006 {MacMillan Audio, Narrator: Scott Brick, David Birney, Cast})

Shadow of the Giant is the fourth book in Orson Scott Card‘s ‘Shadow’ series, thus part of the Ender’s Game world. Here at last we see the story line moving beyond Bean’s childhood issues to follow on with the ramifications of the end of the Bugger war (giggle) and the return to Earth of a school filled with supergenius’ trained to lead armies. Xenocide by Orson Scott Card is the disappointing sequel to Speaker for the Dead and third volume of the Ender Wiggins series. While it has some interesting elements, it is mostly long discussions of Card’s personal philosophy and has a plot twist in the middle that forever changes an excellent Science Fiction world into a mediocre Science Fantasy one.
