Matter, Iain M. Banks (Orbit, 2008 {UK}/2009 {US})

Matter is a mediocre offering by one of the best writers around. Despite strong characters living in a well developed universe and a rich and complex plot, its use of overly complex sentence structure makes it an extremely difficult read. As that I normally love Banks’ use of complex language, this criticism is really saying something. Continue reading
