Dan Simmon’s Masterpiece, Hyperion is the first volume of a series and consists of interrelated short stories told in a Canterbury Tales fashion and inspired by Keats, Longfellow and a variety classical authors. It ends abruptly, serving as little more than the setup for the next volume, but is well written, thoughtful and very enjoyable.
